A Trip to Newcastle

Why Newcastle?

Newcastle has recently been voted the third best city in Europe and the seventh in the world.

It is the biggest small city, with vibrant bars, live music venues, theatres, and award-winning restaurants, all concentrated in the city centre, which can be traversed from end to end in fifteen to twenty minutes on foot.

Newcastle’s nightlife has been voted among England’s best tourist attractions.

Furthermore, commercially it offers a wide range of options, from large shopping centres with the world’s most renowned brands to alternative shops, as well as bustling street markets and fairs held in the old commercial area of Grey Street.

A short trip outside the city will allow us to enjoy magnificent scenery, dotted with small villages, coastal towns, and a large number of historically interesting sites, such as Hadrian’s Wall, dating from 120 BC, 73 miles long and crossing the entire width of England from coast to coast, or the imposing 11th-century Alnwick Castle, also well-known for being used in film shoots such as the famous Hogwarts in Harry Potter.

I have taught at Acadèmia Sarroca for almost 9 years and have known many of you since you were 7 or 8 years old.

I am looking forward to sharing my hometown with you and showing you that Newcastle has something that makes it incomparable to any other city in England.

The itinerary I have created aims to showcase the best the city has to offer, but above all, the The Geordie Pride experience.

I sincerely hope you have a wonderful time and discover a part of England you didn’t know existed.

Zoey Mee.
